QAQC Features

This suite of QA/QC enhancements provides greater visibility into data completeness and quality, making it easier to identify missing information, detect anomalies, and resolve issues more efficiently.

Feature Overview:

Meter list export: Users can now export a complete inventory of all meters directly from the platform, providing a simple, self-service way to access a comprehensive meter record without submitting a manual request. With a single click, users can generate a spreadsheet containing every meter across all utility types, including active and inactive meters, as well as assigned and unassigned meters.

Coverage metrics: This feature provides greater visibility into data completeness by showing how much historical data is available for each individual meter. Users can quickly identify missing or limited data through a visual time coverage indicator displayed alongside each meter, making data gaps easy to spot and increasing confidence in the underlying data.

Rolling 3-month variance & highest-contributing meters: This feature automatically identifies significant changes in a property's energy, water, or waste consumption compared to the same period in the previous year and highlights the meters contributing most to the variance. Instead of manually reviewing consumption trends, users receive alerts on the Data Alerts page whenever a material variance is detected and can drill into the alert to quickly identify the underlying source.

Data alert filtering, sorting, and search: Users can quickly narrow down data alerts by date range, country, utility type, property, or meter, making it easier to focus on the alerts most relevant to a specific asset, region, or reporting period. Filtering, sorting, and search controls are available directly on the Data Alerts page, and any filters applied are automatically reflected in exported reports.

Details & Methodology:

Meter list export: Clicking Export generates a spreadsheet containing every meter the user has access to (excluding estimated meters), with one row per meter. The export includes the meter's data source, assignment status, and time coverage over a rolling 24-month period (using a one-month reporting delay to allow late-arriving data to be received). Meters are organized by sub-portfolio and property, with assigned meters listed before unassigned meters.

Rolling 3-month variance & highest-contributing meters: This feature automatically identifies significant changes in energy, water, and waste consumption by comparing the most recent rolling three-month period to the same period in the previous year. Consumption is normalized for occupancy where available, and a one-month reporting delay is applied to account for late-arriving utility data. Variances greater than ±15% generate an alert, which also identifies the three meters contributing most to the change to help users quickly investigate the underlying cause. Data alert filtering, sorting, and search: The Data Alerts page can be filtered by utility type, country, and date range, making it easier to focus on the alerts most relevant to a specific workflow. Date range filtering returns any alert whose reporting period overlaps the selected dates, while sorting by date orders alerts based on the end of each alert's reporting period. Users can also search for alerts using property and meter drop downs (where applicable). Any filters applied are automatically reflected in exported reports, ensuring the downloaded data matches the on-screen view.

Coverage metrics: Time coverage is calculated at the individual meter level by dividing the number of days a meter reported data by the number of days it was active during the selected period, then averaging those results across all meters for each utility. Area coverage reflects only the floor area served by active meters that reported data during the selected period. These updated metrics are displayed throughout the platform (including the Meters page, Property Dashboard, Portfolio Dashboard, and Data Management pages) providing a more accurate view of data completeness at the meter, property, and portfolio levels.
